Sneak Energy, an international brand renowned for its natural and sugar-free energy drinks, approached us to develop an exciting AR campaign. The goal was to launch two new flavours, blueberry and strawberry gum, targeting the brand’s dedicated community who are avid collectors of their limited-edition products. The aim of the campaign was to increase product sales, create excitement and hype around the new flavours and encourage user-generated content on social media.

To achieve this, we proposed a web AR campaign centred around Sneak Energy’s new characters, Sneak Man and Sleyemball. Each character was associated with one of the new flavours and the challenge was to bring these characters to life outside of their packaging so that when scanning the individual product labels an AR experience is triggered, with the characters appearing digitally above the tubs to show off a range of animated attack gestures.

The decision to use web AR was strategic, ensuring reliability, accessibility and ease of use without requiring users to download a standalone app. This approach removed potential barriers, making the experience more seamless. Next, we created 10-15 second animations for each character using Blender, giving them unique personalities. These animations were then imported into Unity to develop interactive AR sequences, which were hosted on a dedicated microsite with triggers embedded within the product packaging to activate the AR content.

The campaign was a resounding success, not only positioning Sneak Energy as an innovative brand that really understands its audience but also reinforcing its fun and irreverent image. We look forward to seeing what they come up with for their next product launch!
