We can finally let the cat out of the bag and reveal that we’ve partnered with the amazing Golf Fang to produce a future of Christmas-themed augmented reality (AR) experience that launched on 1st December across its five venues in the north of England and Scotland.

In case you don’t already know, Golf Fang is the home of crazy golf meets urban street art culture from the brains at The Big Fang Collective. They tasked us with producing an immersive AR experience that will transform existing set pieces throughout its venues to add an extra layer of fun and interactivity.

“Golf Fang is already unique, but this will take things to a whole new level. We want to create Instagrammable moments aplenty and deliver a crazy golf experience that will be on everyone’s lists this Christmas.”

Using their phones, guests will be invited to scan QR codes around the course that will unlock cool animated AR characters and scenes all themed around the Future of Christmas, transporting them to the year 2098 to find out what the festive season might look like then.

Each of the digital AR characters and scenes will integrate seamlessly with the holes’ real-world environments, giving guests the opportunity to interact with them and take photos to share on social media. The experience is thought to be the first of its kind for any crazy golf venue in the UK.

Golf Fang has five venues in the UK – Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow. The unique concept blends crazy golf, cocktails, DJs and street food in incredible ‘sprayground’ environments designed by local artists.

 

The campaign will run to the 30th December so if you’re in town, head down to one of their venues and get involved in some AR festive frivolities.
