A bit about us

We’re an award-winning creative agency in Manchester that specialises in branding, digital and multi-channel marketing and advertising campaigns.

We help brands all around the world engage with their audiences in meaningful and memorable ways at every touchpoint – physically, digitally & virtually.

Founded by brothers Ted and Olly Holden along with their late father Peter, our history dates back to the advertising heydays.

But today Holdens is more than just a name, it’s a mindset. A restless curiosity, a relentless pursuit of big ideas and a reverence for all things creative.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a well-rounded Unity Developer who leans towards programming, understands the importance of UX design and successfully balances the user’s needs with a brand’s commercial objectives to produce VR and AR experiences that are creative, innovative and intuitive.

You’ll have a thirst for knowledge and the drive to constantly improve yourself. You don’t mind making mistakes as well as having moments of genius and you know how to really test your ideas. You’re a logical thinker and you understand that there are always areas for improvement.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on ground-breaking immersive projects with unique challenges to solve, as well as day-to-day VR and AR design and development, and you’ll play a key role in delivering these experiences from concept to completion. You must have a keen interest in exploring what’s possible when we forgo the ordinary.

You’ll be encouraged to bring innovation to the creative and technological output of the agency, keeping up to date with new and emerging technologies, techniques and trends. Anything you can bring to the table will be utilised, however irrelevant it is to your job title.

You’ll be eager to experiment, but you also know what’s tried and tested. You’ll know your Vive from your Quest and you could talk all day about the physical implications of different locomotion techniques. You can explain the reasoning behind your decisions in plain English but also hold your own when dealing with technical support.

We’ll give you whatever you need to deliver great results for our clients, including the freedom to use any tools, engines or processes you like and full administrative access to your machine.

We work with a real mix of clients, so you’ll get the opportunity to cut your teeth on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors, but with a particular focus on travel and tourism, property and placemaking, leisure and hospitality and retail and lifestyle. You’ll also work collaboratively with the whole of our multi-disciplinary team, as well as our global network of freelancers, friends and creative partners.

  • A positive and enthusiastic individual who responds constructively to new ideas and feedback
  • A confident communicator who can clearly convey ideas and lead team collaboration
  • A team player who actively supports and develops others to meet a common goal
  • A curious mindset that’s always seeking to innovate, improve output and lead more efficient ways of working
  • A constant desire to develop and expand your knowledge of VR and AR design and development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and impeccable time management
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A passion for the industry and what you do.
