The Challenge.
Enterprise Estonia wanted to partner with a UK-based creative agency to deliver an experiential activation for its Trade Estonia division that would introduce the benefits of importing Estonian wood. They needed a unique and memorable activation that could position Estonia on the map as a go-to source for sustainable and high-quality timber products, generating solid leads for Estonian companies and enabling them to establish a strong network of contacts at companies in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds specifically.
The Solution
Based on our in-depth research and understanding of the brief, we recommended delivering an experiential activation at an existing trade show – UK Construction Week – in Birmingham, which attracts approximately 25,000+ visitors across three days. Ranging from architects and builders to contractors and suppliers, the event was the ideal platform for Trade Estonia to connect with key decision-makers in the UK wood sector and avoid the complexities of organising their own event.
We designed an immersive stand that recreated a beautiful Estonian forest scene using real birch trees, moss, natural forest scents and a back-lit woodland backdrop to immerse visitors in a multi-sensory experience that evoked the feeling of being in a real Estonian forest.
We also put Trade Estonia’s brand film centre stage to highlight all the benefits the Estonian wood sector has to offer, as well as integrating touch screen tablets for visitors to access a dedicated campaign landing page that spotlighted Estonian wood sector companies with links to their websites.
To reinforce the sustainability message, the entire stand was constructed from wood, showcasing Estonia’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. The design not only highlighted the versatility of Estonian wood but also emphasised its environmental credentials. Visitors were given custom-made wooden phone holders as takeaways, adding an interactive element and leaving them with a tangible reminder of Estonia’s wood craftsmanship.
The result.
The exhibition stand at UK Construction Week was a huge success, drawing a steady stream of visitors over the three-day event. Its immersive design and focus on sustainability resonated strongly with attendees, many of whom complimented the creativity and execution of the stand.
To top it off, the stand was recognised by the event organisers with a Sustainability Initiative Award, acknowledging both its environmentally conscious design and its ability to be reused at future exhibitions that Trade Estonia attends globally.
Most importantly, our creative execution successfully put Estonia’s wood sector on the map, positioning Estonia as a leader in sustainable wood export and generating more than 100 valuable leads into the UK market.
