Soda-Sound is a full-service audio production studio based in Liverpool but with clients all around the world. A quick glance at the brands they work with, from Apple and Mercedes to Diageo and Dua Lipa, makes it clear they’re one of the best studios around. We were brought on board to give them a new brand and website that really reflected the calibre of their work and the very talented people behind it.
Speaking to the team, it was evident Soda-Sound had grown and evolved organically over time without any conscious consideration of how the brand should look or feel. Our first task was to capture the essence of Soda-Sound, from its work to its people, and express it in the form of a cohesive brand strategy that everyone could get behind. We did this through a series of brand workshops and studio visits, which gave us the chance to experience their thinking and processes up close.
The brand strategy we created acted as the foundation for the rebrand that followed. While still retaining a clean, modern and premium feel, we developed a braver uppercase logotype and a new accompanying logo mark, giving Soda-Sound a dynamic and ownable graphic device to use across its marketing and communications. A more refined typeface and bold vermillion red to accompany the classic monochrome colour palette help them stand out from a sea of sameness.
Our next job was to design and build a website that really showed off just how good they are.
One of the key challenges we had to overcome was creating a brand that the Soda-Sound team could run with on their own long after we’d finished working with them. We accomplished this by creating a set of comprehensive brand guidelines, which detailed exactly how the brand should be used on every channel. Alongside this, we also rolled the brand out across a suite of core marketing and communications collateral and developed social media templates in various sizes to make the team’s life as easy as possible.

Now that Soda-Sound had a brand to be proud of, our next job was to design and build a website that really showed off just how good they are. The brief was clear, to put their work front and centre and give them a platform to show it to the rest of the world. The snappy showreel we produced acts as the first introduction to Soda-Sound on the home page, followed by a series of eye-catching side-scrolling case studies and a nicely laid-out list of client logos that will be the envy of every studio up and down the land. A dedicated work page acts more like an art gallery than a portfolio of case studies, with each of their recent projects able to take centre stage.
Black and white footage of the team and the studio act as a contrast to the work and captures the special moments where the magic happens, bringing the new brand proposition to life: “creating, shaping and innovating sound”. Finally, to give the website the finishing touch we incorporated a mix of sleek but subtle load-in animations, transitions and hover states that take the user experience to the next level and give the site a more premium aesthetic.
There aren’t many audio production studios that can boast a client list like Soda-Sound – now they have a brand and website that’s worthy of it. And although they’ve been around for a while, it feels like the start of a new chapter for Soda-Sound. We can’t wait to see what they achieve next.
